In 2003, the electoral district of Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank grew partially from “Bedford-Fall River” and “Sackville-Beaver Bank”. In 2013, the district boundaries were redrawn with a portion of Beaver Bank going to Sackville and the Portobello area going to Dartmouth East.
The district includes the communities of Beaver Bank, Kinsac, Grand Lake, Oakfield, Wellington, Fletcher’s Lake, Fall River, Windsor Junction, Lakeview and Waverley.
This area is home to two Provincial Parks, Oakfield Park and Laurie Park as well as the MacDonald Sports Park in Waverley.
This district lies within the active transportation corridor from Dartmouth to Carrolls Corner, following the Shubenacadie Canal and remnants of the Old Cobequid Coach Road.
Many people who live here work in the city Halifax or at Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The area contains some of the fastest growing communities in the province. This area is popular with young families and professionals lured by open spaces, many lakes and trees.
